Neil Diamond Impersonator, Jerry Giles, calls his tribute
"Once a Frog"

The reason for the naming my tribute and website "Once a Frog" goes back to a phrase in what Neil has said was his one of most autobiographical songs, "I Am...I Said."

"Did you ever read about a frog who dreamed of bein' a king,
then became one?
Well, except for the names and a few other changes, if you talk about me, the story's the same one."

Ever since I began performing my Neil Diamond tribute several years ago I've called the tribute "Once a Frog."
It seems like a fitting honor to Neil for letting me share his music. When we perform in front of an audience it is we who are the fortunate ones. We receive so much more than just pay for the opportunity to be there for you.
As Neil said, "without you we're nothing." As obvious as that phrase may sound, he was gratefully acknowledging that it is you who turn us from frogs to kings.

My theory is that you can never have too many friends, too much love or too many frogs!
